A rugby lodge for Hertfordshire gets the green light

Hertfordshire has a proud Masonic heritage, but it has never had a lodge that speaks directly to the rugby community. That is about to change: the proposal to consecrate The Hertfordshire Rugby Lodge has been agreed by the Hertfordshire Executive and endorsed by the Provincial Grand Master.

This is a new lodge, not a renamed one: its own warrant, its own number and its own founding members. The founders see that blank page as an opportunity to build traditions shaped by the values rugby already lives by: Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship.

Hertfordshire joins a growing movement. Rugby lodges are established in London, West Kent, Surrey, Gloucestershire and Wales, and UGLE has highlighted them as a model for attracting new members and building lodges with a strong identity.

Consecration is planned for 2027. The date will be announced once it is confirmed by the Province.
